Rev. Shivonne McKay Annan

President & CEO

A global leader and voice, Shivonne McKay Annan has dedicated her life to confronting

systems of inequity for marginalized populations. Mrs. Annan has especially dedicated her

efforts towards women and children intersecting faith and social justice. Mrs. Annan’s proven

success has led to her being sought after for her integrative, holistic approaches to leadership, and organizational development. In 2023, she was chosen as the new President & CEO of The Council of Churches of Greater Bridgeport, Inc. Prior to this appointment, Mrs. Annan spent the last 4 years, as the founding Executive Director of the Jeremiah Program Brooklyn, campus.


Jeremiah Program, a mission’s whose aim is to disrupt poverty through a 2Gen approach, worked alongside a dedicated team tirelessly to provide affordable housing, life skills training, college access to women and quality early childhood education to their children through partnerships. Much of Mrs. Annan’s work in advocacy, ministry and mission have taken her to places like Haiti, other parts of the Caribbean, India, Europe, and Africa.

A sought-after public speaker, preacher and coach, Mrs. Annan is also the Founder of

Kay-S Consulting, LLC. Kay-S Consulting offers specialized coaching services for ministries,

businesses and individuals. Formerly an Adjunct Professor at St. Francis College located in

Brooklyn, New York, she lectured in the departments of Psychology, Education, and Women’s Studies.


Mrs. Annan’s undergraduate studies were completed at The Pennsylvania State

University where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology. She is also a graduate of American Intercontinental University with a Master of Business Administration, and Adelphi University with a Master of Education Administration. Called to combine her strength and talents for greater works, Mrs. Annan received a Master of Divinity degree from Princeton Theological Seminary in Princeton, New Jersey. Currently matriculated at Fordham University, Mrs. Annan is pursuing a Ph.D. in Administration & Supervision.


A contributor to several publications such as Sojourners and Patheos magazines, Mrs.

Annan is also Co-Author of Becoming a Woman like Ruth. She has served on numerous boards and is a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. A recipient of the NYC City Council Woman’s Caucus award, Mrs. Annan was recognized for her work with women and children. In her spare time, Ms. Annan enjoys cooking, and traveling to new and exotic places. Additional hobbies include knitting, dancing, visiting art galleries and engaging in good conversation. A native of Hempstead, New York, now residing in Connecticut, with her husband, Vincent Annan, and their daughter, Salome.
