Taste of Success: How to Start & Grow a Food Business

The CCGB is partnering with the Women's Business Development Council (WBDC) on a 4-part series..."Taste of Success: How to Start & Grow a Food Business," beginning on Wednesday, July 12, 6 to 9 p.m. at Golden Hill United Methodist Church.

Meet experts, and hear about business successes that can help open doors for you to open a food establishment or get your product into the marketplace.

This informative, interactive series provides a person with an understanding of the basic requirements and insights into what it takes to open a restaurant, bakery, food service establishment or launch a food product.

At each session, you'll hear from industry experts, successful business owners, and WBDC's own business specialist.

"We are incredibly excited about our partnership with the Women's Business Development Council," says Michelle McCabe, Director of the Center for Food Equity and Economic Development at CCGB. Michelle added, "WBDC brings expertise and assistance to women around the state in support of building their businesses. All Bridgeport residents interested in starting a food business will benefit from attending these workshops."

Part II: Launching a Retail Food Business: Insight into the costs, challenges and opportunities.

Part III: Food Manufacturing: How to get store placement.

Part IV: Building a Business Plan: Check the viability of your business concept.

Topics will include: Public Health Issues, Local Legalities, Start-up Costs, Marketing and Business Sustainability.

The four dates are: July 12 and July 26, and August 2 and August 9.
