About Youth Services

My name is Rachel Cunningham, the Director of Youth Services for the Janus Center Youth in Crisis. I am truly excited to be a part of the Janus Center Youth in Crisis team. Since I began my position as Youth Service Director in October 2015, we have hit the ground running. The transition has brought a new energy and zeal to the Janus Center. In our current work, we have increase in every area of service and are looking for future opportunities to enhance our services to our community youth. With the energy of me and case managers, Veronica Cruz and Stephanie Milfort, we are strategically looking toward the future of Janus Center. Our ideas are many and we are streamlining them to focus on the most efficient and effective way to enhance the lives of our youth. The Janus Center is excited for the impact we will have on the youth in the Greater Bridgeport Area.

Help Youth in Crisis

The Janus Center for Youth in Crisis

The Janus Center primarily serves Greater Bridgeport youth between the ages of 11-17 who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless and are not under the supervision of the Connecticut Department of Children and Families (DCF.)

Crisis Hot Line

FOR HELP, CALL 203-374-9473Our hotline is a voice of reason when youths require someone to talk to. Available all hours of the day, when you need us we are there.

Mobile Crisis Service

Our mobile crisis service meets our clients at their needs. When that face-to-face contact is required, we come to you.


Reunifying Families

Case Management

Our Case Management professionals work with families of troubled youths to help families stay together.

Host Home Care

A Host Home is a household that voluntarily opens heart and home to a youth between the ages of 11 to17 years old who is in need of temporary shelter, board and care. When a youth cannot return home and is not under the supervision of the Connecticut Department of Children and Families (DCF), The Janus Center for Youth in Crisis provides short-term Host Home care.

Brief Counseling

Brief counseling provides an informal setting for personal and family counseling.


Keeping Kids Safe

Safe Place

Giving youth a safe environment to spend their time after school, on weekends, and over the summer. We provide that place.
